Recipes: Honey Apple Pie

You will need:

For the pastry:
1 sheet frozen puff pastry thawed.

For the filling:
190g sugar
3tbsps all purpose flour
4 tbps Boyne Valley Honey
5 cooking apples
½ tsp cinnamon
1tsbps butter
1/4tsp nutmeg
5 tbps heavy whipping cream

Directions:

Roll out puff pastry between two sheets of 
plastic wrap, large enough to cover bottom
and sides of the pan.

Place in the bottom of a foil-lined pie dish.

Brush lightly with melted margarine or butter.

Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons white sugar.

Bake for 10 minutes.

When pastry is cooked sprinkle pastry with 1 tablespoon of sugar and flour.

Combine the remaining flour and sugar with the cream and honey

Peel and core apples and place in large bowl.

Pour mixture over apples.

Mix carefully to coat apples.

Spoon apples into pie shell , sprinkle with nutmeg and cinnamon and dot with butter.

Place in oven and bake for 35-40 minutes at 191 degrees Celsius.
