The Boyne Valley Honey Company celebrates its 50th birthday in 2010

Boyne Valley Honey has been enjoyed by generations of Irish families. Established in the 60’s in the midst of ‘Flower Power’. 

 

Timeline

1960 – Boyne Valley Honey established in Drogheda
1965 – Boyne Valley Honey moves to Mell which means ‘Honey’ in Irish
1968 – Renowned American Nutritionist Lelord Kordell embarks on a tour of Ireland to promote the health benefits of Boyne Valley Honey
1969 – The LP ‘A Taste of Honey’ released by The Boyne Valley Honey Company reaches the top of the charts
1983 – Boyne Valley Honey launches Ireland’s first computer promotion to ‘Win a Texas Instruments Home Computer’
1989 – The Boyne Valley Honey Book of Kells National Art Competition is launched
1991 – Charles Haughey launches the The Boyne Valley Honey Book and Tape of Irish Legends
1996 – Boyne Valley Honey Days in aid of Down Syndrome Ireland is launched
1998 – Boyne Valley Honey launches their handy new ‘no mess’ squeezy honey
2005 – Boyne Valley Honey sponsors Apimondia – the world conference on beekeeping held in Dublin
2005 – Boyne Valley Honey launches the a promotion to win a spectacular Faberge Egg
2006 – Battle of the Boyne Interpretive Centre opens and Boyne Valley Honey publishes two new books on the subject – The Battle of the Boyne,  A Guide to the Battlefield and The Battle of the Boyne, The Drummer Boys Story
2007 – Boyne Valley Honey launches Yummy Honey – a delicious honey in a handy squeezy honey specially designed for small hands and featuring the character Bizzy Bee
2008 – Boyne Valley Honey launches Manuka Honey – a speciality honey from New Zealand with special health benefits.
2010 – The winners of the second Boyne Valley Honey Book of Kells National Art Competition are announced
2010 – Bizzy and Honey Bee take flight – Boyne Valley Honey launches two very special Hot Air Balloons to celebrate Trim Hot Air Balloon Fiesta
